What To Post On Your Business Profile

Updated: Mar 11

I’m a firm believer that anyone can manage their own social media. It’s not a matter of skill, it’s a matter of time available. That being said, sometimes social media management can be really tough! There are times when it seems like there is absolutely nothing to post, which is why I’ve compiled this list of things to post when there’s nothing to post to help you come up with creative ways to keep your followers engaged.

1. Motivation Monday

2. Tip Tuesday

3. Wacky Wednesday/ Wednesday Wisdom

4. Throwback Thursday

5. TGIF/ Finally Friday/ Flashback Friday

6. Sunday Funday

7. Link to a blog post (Pro Tip: make sure to have blogs)

8. Link to an article relevant to your business

9. Link to a YouTube video relevant to your business

10. Inspirational Quote

11. Client Spotlight

12. Local Highlight (local events/news)

13. Employee Spotlight

14. Holiday highlights (the silly ones are fun, too. National Donut Day, anyone?)

15. How We Got Started story

16. Helpful tips

17. Ask the Audience (they love giving their opinions!)

18. Testimonials

19. Answer a frequently asked question

20. Little known fact about the company

21. Behind the scenes of the business (especially videos!)

22. Memes (keep an eye out for next month’s blog: Why Your Business Needs Memes!)

23. Promotion/Sale/Platform Specific Discount (this just means that you only offer the discount to followers on a specific platform. Example: This week only, our Facebook followers will receive an extra 10% off their order!)

24. Tutorials

25. Community Involvement (show your followers how you’re giving back!)

Social media is such a great way to reach your current and potential customers on a personal basis. People want to know who they’re working with and feel a sense of trust before investing in your business and platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram allow you to do that without spending a dime. Try to keep your content updated regularly to keep your audience engaged. And if you get stuck, I hope this list is a good starting point for some new and fun ideas!

As always, if social media is something that your company is struggling with and you’d like to look at the ways that you can improve your online presence, I’d love to help you take the next steps in growing your business! ‘Cause when it comes to social media, best to leave it to the Millennials.
